Stadl an der Mur

Stadl an der Mur lies directly on the Murradweg cycle trail, between the ski resorts of Kreischberg and Turracher Höhe. The extensive range of activities offered at the leisure centre, with its numerous attractions, is a particular draw. Plus, rafting on the River Mur is an experience that adventure-lovers must on no account miss when on vacation in the Murau-Kreischberg region.

Holiday in Stadl an der Mur

Stadl an der Mur is situated in the municipality of Stadl-Predlitz in Styria, where there is a fair bit to experience and discover. Come to the Murtalbahn railway station and take a nostalgic ride to Murau or Tamsweg and back. Or follow in the footsteps of craftsmen at the Montanmuseum (Mining Museum) in Turrach. Stadl an der Mur's new wooden bridge over the river represents a "gateway to the Murtal".

Active visitors in particular are in good hands in Stadl an der Mur. At this spot in the Murau-Kreischberg region, sport is intrinsic. Whether rafting, hiking, ice skating or swimming, the sporty at heart will find everything they could possibly want. The town is also situated right on the Murradweg cycle trail, so cyclists too are warmly welcome.

Stadl leisure complex

The leisure complex with its bathing lake guarantees pure summer fun. Jump into cool waters on hot summer days. The lake has a bed of sheeting and shingle and is up to 200 cm deep. For tots, there's a large paddling pool of approx. 300 m² with a maximum depth of 40 cm. At the bathing lake, you will also find a 200 m² non-swimmer area with a depth of 110 cm. Around 8,000 m² of lawn area encircles the lake.

For children, the leisure complex offers a few special treats: the Ice Tower and Freefall slide can be found at the bathing lake, while kayaks and stand-up paddles are available to rent from the attendant.

In addition to the bathing lake, which is fed by ground and spring water, there is also a large wood playground spanning around 6,000 m², a football pitch, two tennis courts and a beach volleyball court. There's also a halfpipe for inline skaters.

In winter, you can ice skate on the floodlit bathing lake, take a shot at ice stock sport or go cross-country skiing.

Rafting adventure on the Mur

Rafting on the River Mur is definitely recommended for those thirsting for adventure. Travel on the longest river in Styria on an inflatable raft and experience an adrenalin rush unlike any other. The white water spectacle is an unforgettable experience particularly for groups and associations.
