Winter in the Murau-Kreischberg region
Living tradition over Advent
Tradition is alive and well here, and this is evident throughout the entire year. Over the Advent period, the town of Murau becomes an enchanting Christmas wonderland. Wander through the Christmas market during your next winter holiday, warm yourself up with some Glühwein and punch and let your children enjoy some Christmas crafting. The traditional Krampus Procession is just as much a part of the season as a visit from St. Nikolaus (aka Santa Claus). Take a ride on the Christmas steam railway and leave the stress and hectic nature of everyday life behind you. The musicians playing on the tower on Christmas Eve are also an intrinsic part of the regional celebrations and get you in the Christmas spirit.
