Camping in Murau-Kreischberg

Dedicated campers believe that you can't get back to Nature in a hotel or guesthouse as well as you can in a tent or caravan (trailer). Naturally, the Murau-Kreischberg region offers the ideal conditions for your camping holiday. There are two campsites awaiting holidaymakers, with permanent campers equally welcome too.

Camping holiday at the Olachgut

All pitches are classed as comfort pitches, supplied with electricity, water and a sewage connection. Enjoy a spot of culinary indulgence at the Olachgut farm. There is also a small kiosk for small purchases, where you can buy fresh pastries every day as well as regional specialities and of course Murauer Bier. The Olachgut also offers horse riding lessons; it has its own arena, so you can go riding whatever the weather or time of year. A private bathing lake is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. In winter, the lake is quickly turned into an ice skating rink.

Camping holiday at the Bräuhauser

The small yet perfectly formed campsite is situated in Stadl an der Mur. The advantages speak for themselves: a bathing lake boasting a large leisure complex and a whole host of attractions is a mere 10-minute walk away. The perfect place to cool off with the whole family on hot summer days, and you don't even have to use the car! The camping pitches are to be found in an idyllically tranquil spot. There is a sanitary block with disabled access, which has a separate shower and WC, plus a washing machine and dryer. The garage can be used at any time should guests need to make small repairs to their car or bike. Guests are warmly welcomed by the Pichler family at the restaurant/snack point "Bräuhauser", which serves regional delicacies. Of course, it is also possible to camp in winter and this too has its advantages. There's really nothing standing in the way of a varied and enjoyable winter break in the Murau-Kreischberg region!

Camping in summer and winter alike

Camping holidays are possible at any time of year in the Murau-Kreischberg region. Numerous activities and destinations on offer never fail to delight holidaymakers. In winter, the Kreischberg ski resort and the Frauenalpe local recreation area prove irresistible places to visit.

What to bring: for first-time campers

  • Torch and pocket knife
  • First-aid kit
  • Camping fundamentals such as a sleeping bag and sleepwear (watch out for the weather forecasts; chilly nights in summer might surprise you)
  • Travel pharmacy
  • Observe the box principle: Have your own box with a lid for each area, so you won't need to spend ages looking for things (cooking, sleeping, personal hygiene, etc.)
