Parish church Stolzalpe
The fresco on the altar wall was painted in 1930 by the academic and painter Prof. Franz Köck. It depicts the enthroned figure of Christ, with stigmata showing, surrounded by the sick.
One particularly characteristic feature of the Stolzalpenkirche is its tower: protruding from the width of the entire facade, it is offset by eaves on three quarters of the roof slope and tapers above. An onion dome crowns the structure.
The roughcast aspect of the facades with their uncoloured natural plasterwork, typical of the time, constitutes an essential part of its traditional appearance; it is a nod to the surrounding alpine topography and emphasises the expressionist style of the architecture.
