The places Murau, Ranten and Stolzalpe are located in the middle of marvellous mountains. Tauern and Nockberge are offering unlimited possibilities for ski mountaineering. For example Preber (2.740 m) at the frontier to the Lungau or the Greim (2.474 m) in the middle of the region Zirbitzkogel (2.396 m) in the natural preserve Grebenzen.  

 

Special highlights are the hiking trips in the Nockbergen and in the Lachtal. The most challenging tour is the seven-peak-tour from Frauenalpe to Kreischberg. This wonderful trip connects the ski mountains Frauenalpe and Kreischberg, which are the most important in the region. Tourists are going over the forest limits at a sea level of about 2000 m and can enjoy a great view over the mountains Tauern in the north and the mountains Karawanken in the south.
